Configure the incremental localization process for CCMS Desktop

The CCMS Desktop incremental localization process allows you to start the localization process before all objects have an Authoring:done or your equivalent status.

Procedure

  1. In the TEXTML Administration perspective, connect to your server.
  2. Check out and open the /system/conf/accessrights.xml in a text editor.

You can also use Access Manager to make these changes. Configure access rights using Access Manager .

  3. Edit the Localize access right to define the statuses at which maps and snapshots can be localized.

In other words, specify at which statuses the Localize menu option is available for a map. If you want the option to be available for maps and snapshots at any status, use the * wildcard.

  4. Edit the Localize_api access right to define for which statuses each object is set totb translated at the time it is created in the Localization cycle.

Objects at the statuses you define here are created at tb translated. Objects at any other statuses are created at do not translate. Objects at do not translate are excluded from localization kits that you create.

For each object at do not translate, IXIA CCMS automatically adds the @translate="no" attribute to the root element and removes all the @ixia_locid attributes from the elements that include it.

  5. Edit the Prepare kit access right to determine which objects are included in the localization kit.

You might want to include all objects in the kit, regardless of status, to provide full context to the translators. Alternatively, you might prefer to include only objects at tb translated in the kit.

  6. Save, close, and check in the file.
  7. Inform users of the changes.
The changes are automatically applied once users close and then reopen their CCMS Desktop. Users can also apply the changes without restarting their CCMS Desktop by clicking IXIA CCMS > Synchronize Configuration. Additionally, refresh IXIA CCMS Web so that users see the change reflected there.
