Managing roles, groups, and users
This section contains information and instructions for the configuration of roles, groups, and users.
IXIA CCMS Web and IXIA CCMS Desktop share the same configuration. Users have the same roles, groups and access rights on both platforms. You can use TEXTML Administration perspective in IXIA CCMS Desktop for all your configuration changes.
You can configure CCMS users, and then give them the appropriate roles and add them to the appropriate groups.
A typical sequence is:
- Create a role or roles
- Create a group or groups
- Create a user or users
- Associate users with roles
- Add users to groups

Groups and Content Level Security (CLS)
Groups are integral to CLS. See IXIA CCMS Administration Guide For On-Premise and SaaS Deployments to understand it from the system administration perspective. Access to content in a DRM branch is configured by group. For example, you can grant members of the Widget group read/write access to content in the Widget product branches, while members of the WidgetPro group have either read-only access or no access at all to content in those branches.
