Managing access rights

You can determine which features users have access to by defining access rights. You can configure user access to various IXIA CCMS functions.

Access rights control most aspects of a user's experience in the CCMS. For example access rights control who can check out objects, who can assign objects to other users, who can create new content, who can delete content, who can localize content, and much more.

Access rights are given to roles and groups. Individual users then have access rights based on their roles or the groups they are members of.

Important: Make configuration changes in a test environment and confirm they work before copying them to a production environment.
Note: Companies with a complex user hierarchy might use groups as well as roles to assign access rights. For example, some organizations might create a “Senior Writers” group and another named “Summer Students”, each with different levels of access.
Note: The changes you make to the configuration will be applied when users next connect to their respective CCMS applications. For users of IXIA CCMS Web, an Administrator will need to do a server refresh for the changes to be visible.
