Inactivate a user using User Manager

You can inactivate a user to suspend their access to IXIA CCMS.

Before you begin

Before inactivating a user, remove all assignments for the user (if appropriate), and break any locks the user has on any CCMS objects..

About this task

If a user is going to be inactive for a period of time—for example, a leave of absence—you can inactivate them rather than delete them. The effects of inactivating are very similar to deleting except that when the user returns, re-activating them is easier than re-adding them.

Procedure

  1. Open the User Manager window
  2. Click the lock manager icon Lock button.
  3. In the Users panel, select the user name.

Expand the locations if necessary to find the user.

  4. Deselect the Active checkbox.
  5. Click check in manager icon Check In Document to commit your changes.
  6. Inform users of the changes and ask them to close and reopen their CCMS Desktop to apply the changes. Additionally, have an administrator refresh IXIA CCMS Web so that users see the change reflected there.
