You can create a new user by cloning an existing user.
About this task
If you are adding a number of new users at once who share a number of properties, it might be
faster to create one "template" user and then clone that user multiple times to
create all the new users you need, changing only the necessary properties for
each.
Procedure
-
Open the User Manager window
-
Click the
Lock button.
-
In the Users panel, select the user name.
Expand the locations if necessary to find the user.
-
Right-click the user and select Clone User.
The new user is created, with identical properties as the original, including
the name.
-
Select one of the identical users to edit.
It does not matter which one as they are truly identical.
-
In the User Personal Information panel, edit the fields
as appropriate.
-
In the User Connection Information panel, edit the
fields as appropriate.
-
In the Roles panel, select or deselect roles as
appropriate.
-
In the Groups panel, select or deselect groups as
appropriate.
-
Click
Check In Document to commit your changes.
-
Inform users of the changes and ask them to close and reopen their CCMS Desktop to apply the changes. Additionally, have an
administrator refresh IXIA CCMS Web so that users see the
change reflected there.
