If a user left a content object—a map, topic, image, resource, or ditaval—locked and is
unavailable to release the lock through the application, you have to manually break the lock
to allow another user to work on the object.
Before you begin
To perform this task, you must have the role of TEXTML Server Administrator. Before
you break a user's lock on an object, you must know its filename.
Breaking the lock on a file erases any changes that were in progress. These changes
are not recoverable.
Procedure
-
In the TEXTML Administration perspective, connect to your server.
-
Browse to the /content/authoring collection.
Note: If you need to break the lock on a localized object, you would do this same procedure for
each language within the /content/localization or
/content/translationcollections.
-
In the search field, enter the ID for the object.
That object appears under the
/content/authoring
collection adjacent to a small lock symbol attached to the document icon (

).
-
Right-click the object, select Break Lock. At the
Delete Confirmation dialog, click
Yes.
-
Right-click the server name and select Refresh. After a
few seconds the small lock icon for the object disappears.
Note: Within IXIA CCMS, users will have to refresh their view of
the object for it to appear unlocked.
The object is released for access to other users.
