Re-installation of a Content Store
The procedure for installing a Content Store from a backup depends on how you want it installed and the total number hosted on IXIA TEXTML Server.
To replace an installed Content Store with a
copy from the backup or install a backup copy as a new instance in TEXTML Server, you are replacing or installing a
docbase. Content Store data is stored in a TEXTML Server
docbase. When you created a backup of the Content Store, you backed up the docbase.
Note: If you need to retrieve an object
from the backup to replace a compromised one in your Content Store, MadCap Software
recommends that you contact IXIA CCMS Customer Support.
- A single instance: If TEXTML Server contains only one docbase configured as a Content Store, then performing the restore is a simply a matter of shutting down TEXTML Server, replacing the Content Store files, and then restarting TEXTML Server and its components. See Replace the existing Content Store.
- Multiple instances: If TEXTML Server hosts more than one, then shutting it down may not be an acceptable option since it will disrupt all the users rather than just those affected by the docbase being replaced. In this case, you need to follow the procedure for restoring it while leaving TEXTML Server running. See Replace an installed Content Store without shutdown.
- A new instance: If you want to install a Content Store from your backup instead of installing an empty Content Store such as when you are building a new test environment, you should follow the procedure for installing an existing Content Store as a new instance.
