Perform a manual index update

Use this procedure to force an immediate update of all documents within the docbase.

This function is useful if a large number of documents has recently been added to the repository.

To perform a manual index update:

  1. Open the Administration Console and connect to the server and to the docbase.
  2. Unlock the docbase, if it is locked.
    Note: Locked docbases are read-only, and documents within them cannot be updated.
  3. Right-click the docbase and select Start Indexing Update from the menu.
    In the Properties view for the docbase, the Current operation property displays Updating. When the updating is complete, the Value field for the Current operation parameter is blank.
