Delete a group using Group Manager

You can delete a group if it is no longer needed.

Before you begin

Ensure the group is not referenced by any of the system configuration files such as users.xml, accessrights.xml, or index definitions. Deleting a group that is referenced by other files will corrupt the system configuration and prevent the CCMS from working.

Also ensure no users are members of the group you are deleting.

Procedure

  1. Open the Group Manager window
  2. Click the lock manager icon Lock button.
  3. Right-click the group you want to delete and select Delete Group.
  4. Click check in manager icon Check In Document.
    Your changes to roles.xml are updated in the repository.
  5. Inform users of the changes.
    The changes are automatically applied once users close and then reopen their CCMS Desktop. Users can also apply the changes without restarting their CCMS Desktop by clicking IXIA CCMS > Synchronize Configuration. Additionally, refresh IXIA CCMS Web so that users see the change reflected there.
