Import a topic or map template into IXIA CCMS

After you have created a new topic or map template, either by creating it in the CCMS and exporting it, or by some other method, you need to add it to the system configuration to make it available for users.

Procedure

  1. Open the TEXTML Administration perspective and connect to the server.
  2. Browse to /system/templates/topics.

Depending on how your templates are organized, you might want to add the template to a subfolder (also known as a collection) within /system/templates/topics. For more information, see Organize topic and map templates.

  3. Right-click the appropriate collection and select Insert Documents.
  4. In the Insert Documents dialog, click Add File and browse to the location where you saved the template.
    1. Select the file.
    2. Click Open.
The file path and name appear under Import As.

  5. Click OK.
The template is imported into the collection you selected.
  6. Refresh the Web Server to make the new template available to add to CCMS Web.

To make the template actually available for use in CCMS Web, you must add it using the Administration functions. For instructions, see Add topic and map templates to CCMS Web.

  7. Inform users of the changes.
The changes are automatically applied once users close and then reopen their IXIA CCMS Desktop. Users can also apply the changes without restarting their CCMS Desktop by clicking IXIA CCMS > Synchronize Configuration.
