Upload an Oxygen Web Author plugin

To use a new plugin for Oxygen Web Author in IXIA CCMS Web, you must first upload it to CCMS Web.

Before you begin

You must have access to the Apache Tomcat server, which might require direct access if it is not exposed externally. Therefore, if you are a CCMS administrator, you might require assistance from IT staff.
Note: In a dedicated SaaS deployment, submit a support ticket to request that IXIA CCMS Customer Support perform this task for you.

MadCap Software can only guarantee the compatibility of the plugins listed in Oxygen Web Author plugins in CCMS Web with CCMS Web. Please contact IXIA CCMS Customer Support about other plugins that you are interested in installing.

Procedure

  1. Open the Oxygen Web Author administration page by entering the following URL in a browser:
    http://host name:TOMCAT_HTTP_PORT/oxygen-webapp/app/oxygen.html

    where :

    • host name is the name of the machine where you installed the Apache Tomcat service
    • TOMCAT_HTTP_PORT is the value you specified in the properties.txt file for that parameter

    For example: http://localhost:8080/oxygen-webapp/app/oxygen.html

  2. At the top of the web page, click Administration Page.
  3. Enter the Apache Tomcat username and password.

The username and password are the TOMCAT_USER and TOMCAT_PASSWORD values you specified in the properties.txt file for those parameters.

  4. In the left pane, click Plugins.
  5. Click Upload plugin.
  6. Select the plugin that you want to install, and click Open.
Important: Depending on the size of the plugin, it might take a few minutes and does not display a progress indicator. Do not click anywhere else while the plugin is uploading. Once the plugin is uploaded, it should appear highlighted in green on the Plugins page.
  7. Restart the IXIA CCMS service.
  8. Save the plugin file in a place you can reference later.
Tip: Keep a copy of the dita-company folder with your backups of the Content Store in case you need to update your plugin folder again. You can save this plugin there.
