Before anyone can create new maps or topics in IXIA CCMS Web, you need templates. Each template uses the default template
source files built in IXIA CCMS Desktop, but link the
template source files to roles.
This task is typically performed by a CCMS
Admin. To set up templates:
-
Plan the templates you want for each role in CCMS Web.
For example, you might want SMEs to have a simplified set of
concept, task, and reference topic templates.
-
Create topic and map templates in IXIA CCMS Desktop that can be used in CCMS Web by taking the following actions:
-
Log into CCMS Desktop as a System Administrator or other
user with permission to configure templates in the TEXTML Administration perspective.
-
Go to the system/templates folder.
-
Create map and topic templates for CCMS Web.
For instructions on creating templates, see the Administration Guide for IXIA CCMS.
Tip: It is helpful to create a web sub-folder in the maps folder and in the topics folder to easily identify and
group templates designed for CCMS Web.
-
In CCMS Web, set up
the templates for each role by taking the following actions:
-
Log in to CCMS Web as a user with Administrator
permissions.
-
Click .
-
Click Templates.
-
Click Map
Templates or Topic
Templates.
-
Follow the prompts to create each map or topic
template.
Each template in
CCMS Web has the following settings:
- name
- description, which is optional but strongly
recommended so that users select the correct template
- source file, a template file created in CCMS Desktop
- role, such as SME or Writer
The templates you created are ready for usage.
