Delete your annotation

In a Collaborative Review, you can delete any annotation you add if nobody has replied to it. Once another user replies to your annotation, your annotation is locked and cannot be deleted.

You cannot delete other users' annotations or replies. All replies to an annotation are locked except for the most recent reply, and only the user who added that annotation or reply can delete it. This ensures that the comment history and content is preserved.

To delete your annotation:

  1. Find your annotation in the Annotations side panel, or hover over the highlighted text in the topic.
    As you hover, the Annotations pop-up appears.
  2. In either the Annotations pop-up or Annotations side panel, click Trash icon.
    A warning message appears asking if you want to delete your annotation.
  3. Click Delete.

Your annotation is deleted from the topic and the Annotations side panel. If it was a reply to another annotation, the other annotation remains.
