Change the status of a Language Manifest
Changing the status of a Language Manifest is the best way to keep track of where it is within your translation workflow, but there are some considerations and restrictions on the change.
About this task
Language Manifests are initially created at Translation:new
. From there, you
can manually move the manifest to Translation:in progress
or
Translation: cancelled
. After a localization kit has been
generated for the Language Manifest, it moves automatically to
Translation:in progress
. From there, you can manually move the
manifest to Translation:done
or
Translation:cancelled
.
Status changes can be from the top down or from the bottom up. From the top down, you change the status of the Language Manifest and it automatically changes the status of the child content objects (if possible). From the bottom up, you change the status of the child content objects and then change the status of the Language Manifest. Both approaches are equally valid; it simply depends on your workflow and preferences.
Within those possible status changes, there are a few things to remember:
- You can move a Language Manifest from
Translation:new
toTranslation:in progress
even if all the manifest's objects are not yet in translation—for example, they are still at to be translated. This might or might not make sense in the context of your workflow, so consider the move carefully. - To move a Language Manifest from
Translation:in progress
toTranslation:done
, the manifest's content objects must be at least atTranslation:in review
. This is because, if the content objects are not at least at this status, they do not yet exist within CCMS Web. They are still virtual objects and therefore cannot move to another status along with the Language Manifest.
