Some circumstances may dictate you break the lock on a topic a user
checked out so that other users can work on it. The following procedure applies equally to
other content objects, including images and map.
To perform this task, you must have the role of TEXTML Server
Administrator. Before you break a user's lock on a topic or any other content object,
you must know the ID of the topic.
Important: Any changes
made to the topic by the person who originally locked it will be lost.
Note: Identify all of the topic IDs that user checked out that you need to
release to other users.
To break a lock on a topic:
-
In the TEXTML Administration perspective, connect to your server.
-
Navigate to the /content/authoring collection.
Note: If you need to break the lock on a
localized topic, you would do this same procedure for each language within
the /content/localization
collection.
-
In the search field, enter the ID for the topic.
That topic appears under the
/content/authoring collection adjacent to a small lock symbol
attached to the document icon (
).
-
Right-click the topic, select Break
Lock. At the Delete Confirmation dialog,
click Yes.
-
Right-click the server name and select Refresh. After a
few seconds the small lock icon for the document will disappear.
Note: Within IXIA CCMS, users will have to refresh their
view of the topic for it to appear unlocked.
The topic is released for access to other users and all changes made by
the original user who checked out the topic are lost.
