Edit or fork a ditaval

If all the Branches are available for you, you can either edit in all Branches or choose to fork the ditaval and make changes to only some Branches.

Note: Ditavals do not have context maps, so you never need to select one.

To edit or fork a ditaval:

  1. For the ditaval, click Edit icon.
    The Edit dialog appears.
  2. Do one of the following:
    Editing choice (and scenario)Steps
    Editing a ditaval in all branches
    1. Click the Edit radio button (selected by default).
    2. Click Edit.
    Forking in some branches
    1. Click Fork & Edit.
    2. Select the Branches that will get the updated ditaval.
    3. Click Edit.

The ditaval is checked out and opens in Ditaval Editor.

Your decision to fork or edit means your changes will have the following affects:

  • If you selected Edit, the changes that you make will appear across all Branches.
  • If you selected Fork & Edit, a new instance is created in the Branches you selected. Any changes you make to the new instance will appear only in those Branches.
