Insert a table into a topic

This procedure lets you insert tables into your document.

1. Open the topic in your XMetaL editor.
2. Place your cursor where you want to insert the table.
3. Do one of the following:
   • Press Alt-T.
   • On the Insertion toolbar, click the Insert Table button ().
   • Right-click and then select Table > Insert Table...
   • From the menu bar, select XML Document > Table > Insert Table
   The Insert Table dialog appears.
4. Select the Table type, either:
   • table or
   • simpletable
5. Enter the Number of rows.
6. Enter the Number of columns.
7. Optional: Select Header.
8. Optional: To save the settings you have selected, click the diskette icon at the bottom of the dialog.
   Your selections are saved and used as the default values in the Insert Table dialog. You'll see them there the next time you create a table.
9. Click OK.
