Customizing the framework extension

You can customize oXygen XML Web Author Component to suit the needs of your team.

To support the oXygen XML Web Author Component in the Editing page in IXIASOFT CCMS Web, IXIASOFT created a framework based on the oXygen XML Web Author framework and customized it to simplify working in the topic. The IXIASOFT framework is installed with IXIASOFT CCMS Web.

Important: Making changes directly to the IXIASOFT framework and integrating plugins for oXygen XML Web Author is not supported. The IXIASOFT framework may be overwritten during updates and upgrades.

The IXIASOFT framework differs from the oXygen XML Web Author framework as follows:

Interface
  • The font was changed to Georgia.
  • The following tools are not displayed in the main toolbar:
    • Choose DITA Map

    • XML comments
    • processing instructions
    • Indexing group elements

    • draft-comment element
  • The following elements were configured to be displayed as read-only:
    • Related links elements

Content Completion Assistant
  • The default behavior for the Content Completion Assistant was changed. Instead of opening when the user presses Enter, it opens when the user presses Ctrl + Enter.
  • The Content Completion Assistant was configured not to display some elements, because they either require a mandatory attribute or are elements that are configured as read-only; for example, all the elements that require the href attribute are not displayed.

After you installed IXIASOFT CCMS Web, you prepared and uploaded a framework extension containing your DTDs; for example, the DITA-[company] folder where [company] is the name of your company. If you want to include more customizations, you can add them to your framework extension and then upload the new framework extension to IXIASOFT CCMS Web.
