Anti-virus scans (On-premise deployment)
Having an anti-virus program perform real-time scans of the IXIA CCMS Desktop installation directory and workspace folder can reduce the performance of CCMS Desktop.
Note: This topic applies only to on-premise deployments of CCMS Desktop. If your company uses a dedicated SaaS deployment,
anti-virus scans are managed byMadCap Software.
To reduce on-premise performance issues, you must configure your anti-virus program to prevent real-time scanningĀ of certain CCMS Desktop files and ports. You can conduct a manual or scheduled anti-virus scan.
Exclude the following from scans:
- The CCMS Desktop communication ports (1501, 1500, and 2500 by default)
-
The folder containing the installed Eclipse version
Note: These files in this folder have a ZIP signature, and the anti-virus program may try to open each of them for scanning. -
The workspace folder where Eclipse stores documents for CCMS Desktop
Note: The files in this folder are exclusively used by CCMS Desktop, and are not executable files. Most of the files are XML files, but can include ZIP, PDF, JPG, GIF, PNG, and any other type of file uploaded to CCMS Desktop as a resource.
