You can use the Revision History page to preview and compare any two revisions of a map, topic, or ditaval to see the differences between them.
Each revision on the Revision History page is a snapshot of the object at that time. You can preview the content of each revision and compare it to other revisions. You can use this to see how an object changed between revisions.
For example, if you compare revisions of a topic, you can see the content of
the topic at each revision. And you can see the highlighted differences in content
between the revisions.
You can also compare different revisions of one topic with all the revisions for a clone of the topic.
You can also compare different revisions of one topic with all the revisions for a clone or another instance of the topic.
To compare revisions:
- In the Revision History, click Compare.
A checkbox is next to each revision.
Note: If you
want to cancel this action, click Compare again.

Select the checkbox for both revisions.
The
Compare
view appears as soon as you select the second revision.
The
Revision drop-down list
identifies the current revisions of each object.

To jump to changes between revisions, choose one of the
following actions:
- To jump to the next block of changes, click (Next block of changes) or (Previous block of changes).
- To go to the next change, click (Next change) or (Previous change).
- (Optional):
To change your XML tag viewing preference, click (XML tags) and choose from the view options.
Note: The
(XML tags) updates to your current selection.
- (Optional):
To change the revisions you are comparing, choose one of the
following actions:
- From the Revision drop-down list, pick the revision number you want.
- Click the arrows beside the Revision drop-down list to go through the revisions one at
a time.
