General access rights

These access rights control access to basic actions. Most users have access to these access rights.

Assignment access rights

Assign to Allows users to assign or objects to themselves or other users.

EditUnassignedObjects Allows users to edit objects without being assigned to the objects.

Users without this access right can edit only the objects that they are assigned to.

ManageWorklists Allows a user to create worklists and to add or remove objects and members.

Users without this access right can only view and work within the worklists they are a member of.

General access rights

Note: All users have the access rights in bold by default. To change the configuration for these access rights, add a new method with the access right name and configure it as needed.

AddToDictionaryJob Allows a user to add words to the dictionaries used by the Spellchecker. These dictionaries are found in the dicts folder of the system configuration.

Users without this access right can still use the Spellchecker, but they cannot add any new words to the dictionaries.

ApplyLabels Allows a user to add existing labels from a configured list to objects and to remove labels from objects.

Users without this access right cannot add or remove labels on objects.

Change Status Allows a user to change the status of objects.

Users without this access right cannot change the status of objects.

CCMS Web: Move

Clone Allows a user to clone objects. A clone is an exact copy of the object. In DRM environments, the clone is created in the same branches as the original.

Users without this access right cannot clone objects.

Compare Allows a user to compare two revisions of an object with each other in the Revision History view. CCMS Desktop: Revision History > Compare

Copy ID Allows a user to copy the ID of an object. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > Copy > Copy ID
Copy Title Allows a user to copy the title of an object. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > Copy > Copy Title
Copy fullpath Allows a user to copy the repository filepath of an object. For example, /content/authoring/ uwd1628265108858.ditamap. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > Copy > Copy Fullpath
Copy reference Allows a user to copy the reference (filename) of an object. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > Copy > Copy Reference
CreateMap Allows a user to create maps.

Users without this access right cannot create maps.

CCMS Web: Hamburger menu > New Object > New Map

CreateResource Allows a user to create resource objects.

Users without this access right cannot create resource objects.

CreateTopic Allows a user to create topics.

Users without this access right cannot create topics.

Delete Allows a user to delete objects, which moves them to the Deleted cycle.

Users without this access right cannot delete objects.

EditLabels Allows a user to add, edit, or delete labels in the master list. This option provides GUI access to the list of labels in the userproperties.xml configuration file.

Users without this access right cannot manage labels in the master list.

Edit Variables Allows a user to insert existing variables (key definitions) from a configured list into the currently locked map. This list is the keydefnames.xml configuration file.

Users without this access right cannot access the configured list of key definitions.

Insert Variables Allows a user to insert variables (key definitions) defined in the context map as a key reference while working in Oxygen XML Editor. CCMS Desktop: > Right-click > Insert variable from map
ImportImage In CCMS Desktop, allows a user to create a new image object. It does not affect the user's ability to import an image using File > Import. That option is available unless it is hidden using the eclipseui.xml configuration file.

In CCMS Web, allows a user to create a new image object by importing it within a checked-out topic.

ImportTopic In CCMS Desktop, this access right has no effect. The option to import a topic using File > Import is available unless it is hidden using the eclipseui.xml configuration file. CCMS Desktop: File menu > Import Topic
Lock Allows a user to lock (edit) objects. Note there is no Edit access right. The Lock access right serves that purpose.

Users without this access right can open and view objects, but they cannot make any changes to them.

Open Allows a user to open and view objects. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > Open
Open with Allows a user to open and view objects in a selected editor. The editor must be associated with the object type using Eclipse's File Association preferences, which are completely separate from the operating system's file associations. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > Open with
Properties Allows a user to view the File Properties dialog for an object. This access right does not affect the availability of the Properties view, which displays completely different information about the object. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > Properties
Redline Compare Allows a user to compare a map in Authoring with a published version or snapshot of the map using the redline compare function. This produces a PDF showing the differences between the two maps. CCMS Desktop: Compare With > Redline with
Remove as Droppoint Allows a user to remove drop points from a map. Note that drop points only persist while a map is open in DITA Map view. CCMS Desktop: DITA Map view > Right-click > Remove Drop Point
Restore Allows a user to recover deleted objects—that is, to move them from the Deleted cycle to the Authoring cycle. CCMS Desktop: For object in Deleted cycle,Right-click > Restore
RevertTo Allows a user to revert an object to one of its previous revisions.

Users without this access right cannot revert an object to a previous revision, but they can view previous revisions using Revision History.

Revision History Allows a user to view the revision history of an object. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > Revision History

Set As Droppoint Allows a user to define drop points in a map, which is a place where topics and other maps may be easily inserted. CCMS Desktop: DITA Map view > Right-click > Set Drop Point
Show Preview Allows a user to view a very basic, unstyled HTML output preview of objects.

Users without this access right cannot generate an HTML preview of objects.

Spellcheck Allows a user to check the spelling in objects (like topics and maps) using the Spellchecker. CCMS Desktop: For an object Right-click > Spellcheck
Snapshot Allows a user to create a snapshot of a map.

Users without this access right cannot create snapshots.

ViewDependencies Allows a user to view the dependencies of an object. CCMS Desktop: Right-click > View Dependencies
