You can quickly copy a map to another Branch by creating a new instance of it. The new instance
reuses all the same content as the original except where new instances of submaps need to be
created as well.
Note: You cannot create a new instance of a map in Branches where an instance of the map already exists.
To create a new instance of a map:
-
For the map you want to copy, click .
-
Select Create New Instance.
The Create New Instance dialog
appears. It shows all the Branches in which you can create the new instance of
the map.
-
Select the Branch that you want to create the new instance
in.
If you want to create a new Branch for the new instance, do the
following:
-
Click Create new Branch.
-
Enter a title for the new Branch.
-
Add a description.
This description of the branch will appear in menus where the Branch is
listed. For example, it appears in the
Create New Instance dialog.
Note: If you
select another Branch, the title and description for the new Branch
are cleared. The information for the new Branch is not
saved.
-
Click Create.
The new instance of the map is created in the new or existing
Branch, and it opens in Map Editor.
