Why is the DITA CMS Admin menu is missing from the TEXTML Administration view?

If the DITA CMS Admin menu does not appear in the right-click menu in the TEXTML Administration view, it means the DITA CMS Administration plugin is not installed.

Symptom

The menu entry "DITA CMS Admin" is no longer displayed when you right-click the Content Store in the TEXTML Administration view in the TEXTML Administration perspective.

Tip: If the DITA CMS Admin menu appears but its entries are disabled, make sure that you have right-clicked the Content Store node. The DITA CMS Admin menu is only available from that location.

Problem

The DITA CMS Administration plug-in was either not installed or is corrupted.

Solution

Check if the DITA CMS Administration plug-in is installed in your DITA CMS Eclipse Client. If it is installed, uninstall it and then reinstall it. If it is not installed, install the DITA CMS Administration plugin using an update site or using a dropin depending on your setup.

To check if the plugin is installed:

  1. In the main menu, click Help > About Eclipse SDK.
  2. Click Installation Details.
  3. Click the Plug-ins tab.
  4. Click the Provider column to sort the providers so you can see the IXIASOFT Technologies entries. In the Plug-in Name column, look for DITA CMS Administration. If it appears in the column, then it means the DITA CMS Administration plug-in is installed in your DITA CMS Eclipse Client.
