Working with attributes
You can condition content by adding a metadata or profiling attribute to an element to specify either information about the element or for the element's inclusion or exclusion during output.
There are two kinds of attributes used in IXIA CCMS.
- Metadata attributes specify additional information about an element that can be used for multiple purposes such as output formatting, classification, or linking.
- Profiling attributes mark elements for inclusion, exclusion, or flagging in outputs when used with a ditaval file.
There are two access points for managing and modifying attributes.
- The Attributes side panel allows you to add or edit both metadata and profiling attributes, but only one at a time
- Right-click on an element and select the appropriate option:
- Edit Attributes takes you directly to the Attributes side panel for metadata attributes modification
- Edit Profiling Attributes provides a dialog where you can select multiple profiling attributes
