Review translated content

You can choose to conduct a review of the translated content to ensure the primary components are there and look as you expected.

About this task

Note: As of version 7.1, you can create a Collaborative Review or an Approval for source content or translated content. For source content, create the Collaborative Review or Approval from the map. For translated content, create the Collaborative Review or Approval from a language manifest.

Think of a translation review in the Translation cycle as very similar in function to the typical review in the Authoring cycle.

The optional step of a translation review is the last in completing the translation process associated with a specific translation manifest. At this juncture, the icon for every item within a language manifest changes from a circle to a hexagon to indicate it is an actual physical object with a Translation status and not just a virtual placeholder. The remaining iconography remains as it was.

Note: The interface provides a new icon, , for making edits to the translated object.

To review translated content:

Procedure

  1. After your import completes, click Advanced Search Filter icon.
  2. Search for and open the translation manifest or language manifest that includes the content you want to review. See Search for an object in the Translation cycle.
Important: You cannot edit content in the Translation cycle with the map as context. You must use the translation or language manifest as your starting point for access to Translation cycle content.
Note: Translation manifests are all in the default authoring language. Language manifests are in the language of their content, so you must include the appropriate languages to find them in a search.
  3. Scan the list to find a topic that requires review.
  4. Click the topic to open it, then click and assign a reviewer.
  5. Choose from one of the following actions:
    • To review the content yourself, click the topic title to open it and then click Edit, if required.
    • Under Assignments, add a role, such as Translation Coordinator or Translation Reviewer and the appropriate user, following your company policy.
  6. When your review is complete, check in the topic. You may choose to set the status of the object to indicate your decision.
    • Select the and move it to a status of Translation:done.
