Maps
Maps provide a structured hierarchy to the objects and content within it.
The map is a file that contains references to all the objects, usually topics, that are included in the document. Think of it as the table of contents or an outline for a document.
Maps serve several purposes and can act as a parent or child to another map, either as a root
map or a submap, respectively. The most frequent submaps within a root map are:
- A glossary map
- An index map
You can open topics from the map, add or delete topics, or move topics. You can also promote or demote child topics or expand any section that contains child topics.
To edit a map or topic, see Map Editor and Open an object in a new tab.
