Manually synchronize configuration files

To apply the latest configuration updates made by an administrator, you must synchronize your system configuration files. Synchronizing copies the most recent version of the files onto your hard drive without having to restart Eclipse.

About this task

Each time a user starts IXIA CCMS Desktop or connects to a server and Content Store, their individual configuration files are synchronized with the master configuration files in the Content Store's repository. However, if an administrator makes changes to the configuration while users are connected, they must synchronize their configuration manually to have the most up-to-date settings.

For example, the system administrator has added new users while you are working, so you synchronize your configuration to assign documents to them.

To manually synchronize configuration files:

Procedure

  1. Receive notification of the need to synchronize from your system administrator.
  2. Choose one of the following actions:
    • From the menu bar, select IXIA CCMS > Synchronize Configuration.
    • On the Global Actions toolbar, click Sync system files (Synchronize Configuration).
    • Press CTRL+SHIFT+S.
Your local configuration files are synchronized with those in the Content Store's repository.
