Insert a special character in the content
During development or edit, you can add special characters to CCMS Web content.
CCMS Web uses an Oxygen authoring environment for
topic content. The Oxygen toolbar provides you with the
ability to insert special characters in content as long as those characters are
available in the font you use for your final output.
Note: Not
all fonts include all characters, so the initial default set of characters in
the grid derives from a list of most commonly used special characters. As you
select a special character, it populates the first slot in the grid as the
picker customizes to your usage, so that your most commonly selected special
characters display closest to the front of the grid.
To insert a special character in the content:
- In the topic you are authoring, click on the Oxygen toolbar.
-
In the resulting pop-up, choose one of the following actions:
- Select a character already identified in the most commonly used grid.
- If you do not locate a character you need, click More symbols... at the bottom of the pop-up and search for it using the By name or By category tabs, select the character, and then click OK to insert it in the text at the cursor location.
