- Network requirements
  IXIA CCMS has requirements for the performance, security, and other characteristics of your corporate network.
- Authentication
  IXIA CCMS requires new objects in your central directory to control execution and access to the docbase of TEXTML Server. You can optionally use Kerberos authentication.

  A deployment of IXIA CCMS requires support from your corporate infrastructure.
  - SSL certificates
    You need to supply and maintain SSL certificates. MadCap Software provides instructions on where to place the certificates and how to configure components to use SSL encryption.
  - SMTP server for email notifications
    If you plan to use IXIA CCMS Scheduler, you need to have a corporate SMTP server and a local SMTP gateway for CCMS Scheduler to be able to send emails.
  - DNS aliases for servers
    MadCap Software recommends creating DNS aliases for the servers hosting components of IXIA CCMS component to simplify connection information.
  - User management via Active Directory
    Access can be managed by using a central directory of users such as Microsoft Active Directory.
  - Anti-virus exceptions
    Anti-virus and security solutions should be set so that they do not scan-on-write any files used by IXIA CCMS components.
  - Remote access servers
    IXIA CCMS supports remote access solutions, including RDP and Citrix. You can use a single remote access server or a server farm.
  - Backup requirements
    Most of the files in the deployment do not need to be backed up since they can be reinstalled from the original installation files. The only essential component that must be backed up is the docbase.
  - Failover and disaster recovery of the Content Store
    The docbase is the most critical component of the IXIA CCMS since it contains all the data. The IXIA TEXTML Server can be deployed to ensure that CCMS data is always available and easily recoverable should a machine component fail.
  - File share
    A CIFS or NFS file share is required in specific configurations.
  - Source control software
    MadCap Software strongly recommends using source control software (SCS) to maintain the various files of the Output Generator and the Scheduler.
