Revert an object

If you checked out the wrong topic, map, or image and/or you wish to start over, you can choose to discard all changes and revert to the previously-saved version instead of checking in an object.

You can discard your most recent work on the object and restore it to the version when it was last checked in by using the revert action.

If you have an object checked-out, a Revert button appears for that object in its editor. For example, it appears in Topic Editor for a checked-out topic. There is also a Revert icon (Revert icon) for the object on other pages, such as the My Assignments page and Search.

To revert an object:

  1. Find the object you want to revert.
If you are not already in an editor (such as Map Editor or Topic Editor), you can use Search or sorting actions on the My Assignments page to help.
  2. To revert the object, click Revert or Revert icon.
Revert appears in editors such as Topic Editor.

You can click Revert icon for the object anywhere you see it, such as the My Assignments page or your Favorites side panel.

  3. In the dialog, select the I understand checkbox.
  4. Click the Revert button.

The object is checked in and unlocked. Your changes are discarded, and the object reverts to the last saved version.
