Add a resource to a topic

You can add a reference to a resource already in IXIA CCMS Web to a topic. Some examples of resource usage include adding sample files and templates to your documentation.

You must check out and edit the topic.

To add a resource to a topic:

  1. In Topic Editor, click where you want to insert the resource.
  2. Add an element that accepts an @href or @keyref attribute.
For example, if your deployment has integrated <audio> or <video> elements, you can add a <param> element within them. The <param> element can be given an @href or @keyref attribute.

Alternatively, you can also insert a <param> element in an <object> element.

  3. Click inside the element (for example <param>), and do one of the following:
    • Click Link icon and select Resource.
    • Right-click and select Link>Resource.
    The Resources dialog appears.
  4. Click Document type > Clear, and then select Resource.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Use the Search to find the resource that you want.

In IXIA Dynamic Release Management, you are limited to inserting resources in the same Branch as the Context Map of your topic and associated Library branches.

If the topic does not have a context map, then the resource is inserted in the same Branch as the topic.

  7. Click the checkbox for the resource that you want to insert.
  8. Click Insert.
The resource is inserted within the element.
