Default groups

You can manage IXIA CCMS access rights for various groups of users.

Access rights are not limited to roles, so you can manage access for different teams with the same roles where users require different levels of access to actions.

If your deployment uses the IXIA Dynamic Release Management (DRM) module, you can also use groups to restrict access using Content Level Security.

Note: The identified groups are included by default. You can add or remove groups and adjust the configurations to meet your deployment requirements.
Group name Description
System Administrators

By default, the System Administrators group has the access rights to all actions in IXIA CCMS. Users added to the group have access rights to all actions.

Advanced Users

The Advanced Users group applies only to CCMS Web. Users added to the Advanced Users group have access to the following in editors:

  • Attributes sidebar
  • Oxygen framework for Advanced Users
  • XML text editor
Everyone

The Everyone group is a catch-all group for assigning access rights to an action when there is no need to specify certain roles or groups.

Generally, all users are added to the Everyone group.

API Users

If an automated process needs to create multiple sessions with the same account, add that account to this group. It allows applications connecting to IXIA CCMS with the REST API to use multiple, parallel live sessions with the same account.

Note: Never add regular users to this group. It can lead to inconsistencies or lost content for those users.
