Assigning work to others
Work can be assigned to different sets of users at different points in the document development cycle.
The workflow can differ from place to place; for example:
- Authors produce the first drafts of the content, and then the editors and technical experts edit the topics.
- Authors send the final drafts of the content to groups of reviewers for approval.
- Subject matter experts produce the first drafts of the content, and then writers and editors edit the drafts to finalize the content.
- Graphic artists create images that are reviewed by editors and technical experts.
Whatever document life cycle you follow, IXIA CCMS offers functions that let you easily assign documents to the user roles that are responsible for them in each phase and set due dates for each set of users.
Users can keep track of their assignments and due dates in their Todo Lists.
Different ways to assign work
The procedure for creating an assignment differs depending on what kind of feedback you want and what your assignees will be using to provide that feedback.
