Modify assignments for multiple objects

You can assign multiple objects to the same users at the same time.

  1. For the objects that you want to assign, click the checkboxes beside their titles.
    The Bulk Actions basket appears as a ribbon. It shows how many objects you have selected, and it updates as you select more objects.
    Note: You can have different types of objects in the Bulk Actions basket at the same time.
  2. From the Action drop-down list, select Assign to.
  3. From the Role drop-down list, select the role for the users that you want to assign.
    The ribbon updates to show you how many of the objects can be assigned for this role.
  4. (Optional): To see a list of the objects, click the ribbon to expand it.
    When the ribbon expands, you see the full Bulk Actions basket. The State column shows if the action is possible on an object:
    • Ready icon: the object can be processed.
    • Skippedicon: the object will be skipped.
  5. Click Continue.
    The Bulk Assign to dialog appears.
  6. If there are existing assignments, choose how to handle them.
    Some objects might already have users assigned to them with this role. The Bulk Assign to dialog shows the number of objects with existing assignments. You can choose either of the following ways to handle them:
    • Replace any existing assignments for the role with the new assignment
    • Leave all existing assignments for the role unchanged
  7. Create the new assignment by setting the following:

    Assign users
    1. From the Users drop-down list, select the users you want to add.
    Tip: You can type in a name to search for a user. If there are many users (over 250), some users might only appear in the list when you search for them.
    Add a comment (Optional)
    1. In the Comment field, add a comment for assigned users to see.
    Set the assignment context map (Optional)
    1. From the Assignment Context Map drop-down list, select the context map you want to use for the assignment.
    Note: If any of the objects in your Bulk Actions basket are not in the context map that you select, then those object are not assigned during the bulk action. CCMS Web shows if any objects cannot be assigned with the context map.
    Set a due date (Optional)
    1. Either enter a date (format yyyy/mm/dd) or click Calendar icon to pick one.
    Set the assignment rules
    1. Select the assignment rule you want
  8. Click Assign to.
The objects are assigned, and the ribbon turns green.
Note: You can click New Action to take another action on the same objects.

If any objects failed to be assigned, the ribbon appears red. You can expand the ribbon for more details.
