About Image Editor
Image Editor shows all the image formats for an image object and the image metadata. Use Image Editor to edit images.
Images always open in Image Editor in a read-only mode first unless you already have the image checked out. To edit an image, check it out by either clicking Edit or the icon.
Open Image Editor by either clicking Edit while in Image Preview or clicking the Edit icon () while in Search or the My Assignments page.
Image Editor
You can edit any of the following for an image while in Image Editor:
- Change the name of the image
- Change the image type
- Change the image description
- Delete different versions of an image
- Edit existing versions of an image
- Upload new versions of an image
Note: You create new images by uploading and adding them to topics in
Topic Editor. Once
created, you edit and update them through Image Editor.

1 | Navigation bar | Use it to return to the My Assignments page, go to other functions (depending on your role), access help, or sign out. |
2 | Breadcrumb path | Displays the image title. |
3 | Image metadata | The metadata for the image object, which applies to all the image formats. |
4 | Image tiles | Tiles you can use to edit different formats of the uploaded images. |
5 | Action buttons | A set of buttons with all the allowed actions for the image. |
6 | Side Panel | Different panels appear here according to the context. You can click on any of the panels to expand or collapse them.
