Create a new version from a version tag

You can create a new product or library version from a version tag by using the New version option.

Note: Version tags can be used within the same product or library that they were created. For example, if you create a version tag for a version in Product A, you cannot use this version tag in Product B or Library C. If you need to reuse a version in a different product, use the Clone version feature instead.

Newer revisions of objects

The version tag records the revision of each object at the time the version tag is made.

When creating a new version from a version tag, IXIASOFT CCMS Web uses the revision of objects recorded in the version tag.

If the revision of the object listed in the version tag is the same as the latest revision, the new version reuses that object. The object is shared with any versions that have the object.

If the revision of the object listed in the version tag is older than the latest revision, a new instance of the object is created with the content from the older revision. The object is not shared with any other version.
