If all the Branches are available for
you, you can either edit in all Branches or choose to fork the topic and make changes to
only some Branches.
The view or page that you edit the topic from changes the steps required. If you edit the topic from the My Assignments page, Map Editor, or Topic Preview, you need to pick a Context Map only if the topic does not already have one.
To edit or fork a topic:

For the topic, click .
The Edit dialog appears.

Do one of the following:

- Click the Edit radio button (selected by default).

- Click Fork & Edit.
- Select the Branches that will get the updated topic.
- Click Next.

If you are editing the topic in all branches from the My Assignments page, Map Editor, or Topic Preview and it has a context map, the topic is checked out and opens in Topic Editor.
In all other cases, you must still select a Context Map for the topic from
the Search.
Continue with the steps below.

Do one of the following:
- To pick a Context Map for the topic, click the radio button for
it.
- To edit the topic without a Context Map, click No context map.

Click Edit.
If you selected Edit, the topic will update with the changes you make across all
Branches.
If you selected Fork & Edit, a new instance of the topic is created in the Branches you
selected. Any changes you make will appear in that topic for only those Branches.
