How do I install or update oXygen XML Editor or oXygen XML Author in the DITA CMS?

You can install or update the XML editor from an update site or by using a dropin.

Symptom

You are missing the oXygen XML editor in the DITA CMS Eclipse Client or the XML editor is out of date.

Problem

You need to install a new version of oXygen XML editor to work with the DITA CMS Eclipse Client.

Solution

The oXygen XML Editor web site provides information on how to install or upgrade the Author or Editor editions in an Eclipse environment. You can install the software by using one of the following methods:

Using an update site (requires write access to the installation folder of Eclipse)
Using the dropins mechanism

To install or upgrade:

Open the appropriate oXygen XML Editor web site according to the edition of the XML editor you wish to use:
- For Author: http://www.oxygenxml.com/xml_author/download_oxygenxml_author.html?os=Eclipse
- For Editor: http://www.oxygenxml.com/xml_editor/download_oxygenxml_editor.html?os=Eclipse
Click the Eclipse tab.
Depending on the method you want to use, follow one of the following:
- To use an Update Site, follow the "Update Site Distribution" instructions.
- To use the Dropins method, follow the "Zip distribution" instructions.

Note: Any customizations you made in oXygen such as changes to the CSS or Schematron will have to be re-implemented. For more information, contact your DITA CMS Administrator.
