New instances of maps (DRM)

In IXIA CCMS Web with IXIA Dynamic Release Management (DRM), if you have the required access rights, you can create a new instance of a map and add it to a new branch or an existing branch without that map.

You can only create a new instance of a map in one branch at a time. The target branch for the new instance can only be in the same or as the current branch with the map.

Object reuse

For new branches, all the objects in the map are reused in the new branch except for submaps. CCMS Web creates new instances of the submaps instead, but these also reuse the same objects as the original submaps.

For existing branches, all the objects in the map are reused in the new branch. CCMS Web creates new instances of the submaps only if they do not already exist in the target branch.

Access rights and Content Level Security (CLS)

If the current map is in a closed branch, you can still create a new instance. You can create a new branch only if you have the correct access rights and read-write access on the current branch of the map. The new branch is created with the same child libraries and CLS as the current branch of the map.
