Add a resource to a map

You can add a resource to a map for inclusion in your documentation.

When you add a resource to a map, IXIA CCMS Web creates a <topicref> element that references the resource. The <topicref> element also has the @processing-role attribute, for example:

<topicref href="lar1409844676342.res" processing-role="resource-only"/>
Note: This task show how to add a resource using the Content view in Map Editor, but you can also use the Structure view.

To add a resource to a map:

  1. Find an existing map object that requires a resource.
  2. Hover over the title of the object.
    The mini toolbar appears.
  3. Click Insert Objects.
    The Insert Object dialog appears. You can filter by three main categories: document type, status, and locked by.
  4. Use the Search to find the resource that you want.
  5. Select the resource by clicking the checkbox.
  6. Click Insert.

A new topicref is added in the target location for each resource that you selected.

The topicref element has a href attribute that references the resource.
