Add a resource to a map

You can add a resource to a map for inclusion in your documentation.

About this task

When you add a resource to a map, IXIA CCMS Web creates a <topicref> element that references the resource. The <topicref> element also has the @processing-role attribute, for example:

Note: This task show how to add a resource using the Content view in Map Editor, but you can also use the Structure view.

To add a resource to a map:

Procedure

  1. Find an existing map object that requires a resource.
  2. Hover over the title of the object.
    The mini toolbar appears.
  3. Click Insert Objects.
    The Insert Object dialog appears. You can filter by three main categories: document type, status, and locked by.
  4. Use the Search to find the resource that you want.
    In IXIA Dynamic Release Management, you are limited to inserting resources in the same Branch as the map and associated Library branches.
  5. Select the resource by clicking the checkbox.
  6. Click Insert.

Results

A new topicref is added in the target location for each resource that you selected.

The topicref element has a keyref attribute that references the resource.
