Open the Index Definition document

Open the Index Definition document from the TEXTML Administration perspective.

The Index Definition document allows you to specify which values are indexed by IXIA CCMS.

CAUTION: Making changes to the Index Definition document requires advanced technical skills and an understanding of the consequences of each change. MadCap Software strongly recommends that you consult with IXIA CCMS Customer Support before making significant changes.

To open the Index Definition document:

  1. Open the TEXTML Administration perspective and connect to the server.
  2. Expand the Content Store node.
  3. Double-click the Index Definition document to open it in the editor.
    The Index Definition document opens in the editor, but it is not locked.
  4. Click the TEXTML Administration shortcut on the toolbar to open the TEXTML Administration perspective or take the following actions:
    1. Select Window > Perspective > Open Perspective > Other
    2. Click TEXTML Administration.
    3. Click Open.
  5. In the TEXTML Administration view, double-click the server.
  6. If your server is not in the view, add it by taking the following actions:
    1. To find the server name, click Window > Preferences and select IXIA CCMS.
      In the TEXTML Server Connection section, the server name is the Hostname.
    2. Copy the Hostname and close the Preferences window.
    3. In the TEXTML Administration view, right-click and select Add Server.
    4. In the Server field, enter the server name.
      The Port field fills automatically. If it does not and you need the port number, you can find it in the same place as the server name in the Preferences window.
    5. Click OK.
  7. When the Connect as dialog opens, type your username and password and click OK.
  8. Double-click the name of your Content Store to open a connection to it.
  9. Expand the Content Store node.
  10. Double-click the Index Definition document to open it in the editor.
    The Index Definition document opens in the editor, but remains locked. To continue, see Confirm an index definition already exists and Edit an existing index definition or add a new one.
