Mark an assignment as finished

If you are finished working on an assignment, you can mark it as finished.

Assignment rules determine when an assignment is considered finished.

You can mark an assignment as finished without changing the status of an assignment, since the status of the assignment is independent of the status of each assignee. The status of the actual assignment only changes at the time all assignment requirements are met.

Once an assignment is in a Finished state, all assignees see the on the object's icon in places like your My Assignments page or the Dependencies view.

Note: For Approvals, you cannot mark yourself as finished. Once you either approve or reject the content, your status automatically changes to the Finished state.

If the finished assignment changes to a different status in the workflow, the assignment resets for the new status and is no longer considered finished. The also disappears.

Note: This does not apply to Collaborative Reviews. If a reviewer changes the Review status to In Discussion status, the remains so that the remaining reviewers know they finished the assignment.

To mark an assignment as finished:

  1. Click Move icon.
  2. In the Move dialog, click the Mark assignment as finished toggle switch.
  3. Click Move.

The assignment is marked as finished.

Tip: In the Move dialog, you can also toggle from Finished back to To do if you later determine you should continue to work on an assignment.
