Multi-site deployment using remote access
If you have two sites, one option is to install IXIA CCMS at the primary site and have users at the secondary site access CCMS over the WAN. Secondary site users who perform resource-intensive tasks access the system with a remote access solution.
This deployment scenario does not require replication. This scenario is feasible for multi-site deployments if the performance and response time is acceptable for satellite and secondary site users.
User access is as follows:
- Primary site users access the system in the same way that single-site users do.
- Secondary site users:
- Lite users access CCMS Web in a web browser.
- Authors and editors work in IXIA CCMS Desktop installed on their workstations.
- Information architects, localizers, and production
officers who perform resource-intensive tasks work in CCMS Desktop installed at the
primary site, using a remote access solution (Citrix, Microsoft remote
application, or a virtual machine).
Because these users perform a large number of transactions on many objects, the CCMS transactions must be performed locally at the primary site for optimal performance.
- Satellite users:
- Lite users access CCMS Web in a web browser.
- All other users work in CCMS Desktop installed at the primary site, using a remote application solution. This is the preferred solution for resource-intensive tasks.
