Obtain browser messages

If IXIA CCMS Customer Support asks for browser messages to help troubleshoot issues with IXIA CCMS Web, as you repeat the action that triggered the issue, gather any related browser messages.

Each browser is unique, so use the error logging mechanism for the related browser.

To obtain browser messages:

  1. Open the error logging mechanism in your browser.

    • Windows or Linux: Press Ctrl+Shift+J
    • Mac: Press Cmd+Opt+J

    Microsoft Edge on Windows Press F12, and then click the Console tab

    Safari on macOS
    1. Choose Safari > Preferences > Advanced and select Show Develop menu in menu bar
    2. Choose Develop > Show Web Inspector

    Firefox on Windows Click Firefox > Web Developer > Web Console

    Other browsers Search the internet for your browser name, your operating system, and the terms browser error web console, then follow the related directions for obtaining logs
  2. Repeat the action that triggered the issue you experienced with CCMS Web.
  3. Create a text file of the error console messages.

    Google Chrome Right-click in the Console and select Save as to save the output of the console to a log file
    Microsoft Edge on Windows
    1. Select the messages with your mouse and right-click the selection and click Copy
    2. Use a text editor such as Notepad to create a new text file, paste in the messages, and save the file
    Safari on macOS Press CMD+S and save the console messages as Console.txt
    Firefox on Windows
    1. Right-click in the Web Console and click Select all. Right-click again, and select Copy message
    2. Use a text editor such as Notepad to create a new text file, paste in the messages, and save the file
    Other browsers Search the internet for your browser name, your operating system, and the terms browser error web console, then follow the related directions for obtaining console messages
  4. If your browser has a Network tab, save the messages from that tab.
  5. Send the text files to IXIA CCMS Customer Support.
    You saved the browser messages and can engage with IXIA CCMS Customer Support.
