How packages work
To deploy IXIA CCMS Desktop, you configure a set of files called a package and then deploy that package to users in a variety of ways.
Packages are stand-alone, self-contained folders containing a copy of the Eclipse framework and a set of software components called plugins.
You need to configure multiple packages so that you can serve users with different needs. For example, end users require a different package from users with CCMS administration rights.
More than one package can be installed on the same machine without interference between packages, as long as they are in separate folders. For example, two packages with different versions of the components can be on the same machine. Similarly, a user can have two packages with a different set of components.
