Download and extract the base Eclipse package

The piece of software you need is the base Eclipse package, which you download from MadCap Software and then extract.

Before adding anything else to a package, you add the base Eclipse file to it.
  1. Download the Eclipse package:
    1. Go to the CCMS_7.2 area of the download MadCap Software Downloads site:
    2. Click the CCMS Desktop folder.
    3. Download the eclipse-4.7.3_win32_x86_64_<version>.zip file where <version> is the latest version available.
      This file is for a Windows 64-bit platform.
  2. Extract the content of the downloaded file into a temporary directory, such as C:\temp\desktop-packages\prod.
    Important: Do NOT start Eclipse from this directory. When you start Eclipse, it creates installation files that are specific to the computer on which it is running. If you start Eclipse from your packaging directory, these files will be included when you deploy CCMS Desktop.
