Generate output from a localized map
Localization varies slightly for output generation, since it requires you to use the related language manifest when you generate an output for each target language, rather than using the source map.
The most common approach after obtaining localized content is to generate output and either review it yourself or to send it for review, depending on your company policy.
To search for the map, see Search for an object in the Translation cycle. If you have an issue with output, the Output Analyzer provides you with a log file that identifies the fault.
Important: You cannot generate output
for objects in maps that have a status mix of Authoring and Translation.
Note: You can generate any output that you normally would
produce from a map except for a Build Manifest. In 7.0, it is not possible to
generate localized content using a Build Manifest.
To generate output from a localized map:
- Open the translation manifest and, in the Page field, select a language manifest from the drop-down.
- From the language manifest, click .
- Select Generate Output.
- Select the output type from the drop-down.
-
(Optional) Select a
ditaval
for the output. - Click Generate.
