Bulk actions in CCMS Web
When you select an object in IXIA CCMS Web, the Bulk Actions basket saves your selection to the basket. You can then select an action to simultaneously take that action for all the eligible objects in your basket.
Object selection
Every object in CCMS Web has a checkbox near its title, so you can select multiple objects to add them to your Bulk Actions basket.
Bulk Actions Ribbon
When you select an object, the Bulk Actions basket appears as a ribbon at the bottom of your screen.
Once you complete your selection, choose an action from the dropdown menu in the ribbon to run on the identified objects from the ribbon. Click on the ribbon to expand the Bulk Actions basket if you need to review what's in the basket.
Bulk Actions Basket
The Bulk Actions basket shows all the objects you have selected and information about each object. The information appears in a configurable dynamic grid.
You can also take actions on individual objects in your basket.
Bulk actions
You can select actions on the ribbon or basket to take that action on all the objects in your Bulk Actions basket. You can take actions like the following:
- Check in all the objects in the basket
- Change all the objects in the basket to a specific status
Sometimes, the action cannot be performed on all the objects in your basket. In such an instance, CCMS Web processes as many objects as it can and skips the rest.
You can view the number of objects in the ribbon and basket, and the State column in the Bulk Actions basket indicates if the software can either process or must skip the action for that object.
Dependencies during a bulk action
When you use a bulk action, the software only processes objects in the basket. Any dependencies of these objects are not processed, so some dependencies might prevent action completion for some objects.
For example, if you move a map in your basket to Done status, the topics in the map do not change to Done status. This prevents the map from changing to Done status because the topics need to change status first.
Issues with actions on multiple objects
The ribbon turns green if CCMS Web processed all the objects, excluding those it skipped. The ribbon turns red if CCMS Web could not process all the objects.
For unprocessed objects, expand the red ribbon by clicking it. denotes all unprocessed objects and a message below it explains why it remains unprocessed.
