Interface for IXIA CCMS Web

Different pages convey information about content, content assignment, and content status. Each customized page fits a specific purpose, such as writing content or managing assignments. Pages have a similar layout that typically involves the navigation bar, the dashboard or toolbar, and the main area for user interactions. The main area may be a dynamic grid or an editor tool.

The Navigation bar

Use the Navigation bar on every page for basic functions and paths to different features.

Icon Function
Main Menu icon Provides role-dependent access to other features
Favorites side panel icon Opens a side panel containing objects you marked as a favorite
Worklists icon Opens a side panel containing worklists in which you are a member
MadCap Software logo Provides access to your homepage and its lists
Search icon Supports the search for objects containing the keyword you enter
Advanced Search Filter icon Provides access to the Advanced Search side panel
Username icon Identifies you by the username you used during log in
Help icon Provides access to system help in a side panel for the current page
Sign Out icon Allows you to sign out of your CCMS Web user account

Main Menu pop-up window

Click Main Menu icon to access various features, depending on the type of user roles assigned to you by your system administrator.

New object Access to sub-menu for creation of a new CCMS Web map, topic, resource, or ditaval
Import localized content Shortcut for performing an import of content supplied to a translation or localization vendor after localization is done
My assignments Shortcut for accessing objects assigned to you by other users or by CCMS Web at the time of creation
My outputs Shortcut for accessing generated output builds
My kits/imports Shortcut for accessing generated localization kits and to localization imports
Administration Access point for administrative tasks for users with a system administrator roles

System Information pop-up window

Click on your username to access your system information, such as the server and docbase you are logged into, the Output Generator you are using, your roles, and your group memberships.

The Dashboard area

Use the Dashboard area for access to important page information. For example, on the My Assignments page, it identifies the total number of objects assigned to you with any related, critical information.

Dynamic grids

Use pages that contain a grid to review the current state for any object in the list. For example, on the My Assignments page, the grid contains the objects currently actively assigned to you for your assigned role.

You can customize the grid to include information that is most important to you.

The Main Editing area

Depending on if you are authoring or reviewing, use the Main Editing area to create and edit object content or review object content and add annotations.

The Details side panel

Use the Details side panel to access information related to current object content.

Double click on any of the icons to expand or collapse the side panel.

Taxonomy Lists taxonomy terms currently applied to the object and enables you to add additional terms
Review Lists all comments from writers, reviewers, collaborators
Attributes

Displays attributes and values currently applied to a selected element and enables you to add and edit attributes and values

Validation Indicates if document structure is valid or has errors, such as keyword issues
